ABOUT US
Built by people who have done the job
HazReady is emergency intelligence software designed from inside the profession — by responders and researchers who have run the incidents, written the plans, and sat in the EOC at three in the morning.
WHY WE EXIST
Emergency management deserves better tools than a shared drive
The sector runs on spreadsheets, PDFs and institutional memory. Meanwhile the hazards are compounding — wildfire, flood, climate-driven events, aging infrastructure and mutual-aid networks that have to work on the worst day of the year. We built HazReady because the gap between the risk data agencies hold and the decisions they can actually make with it is where communities get hurt.
HOW WE BUILD
Our principles

Practitioner-first
Every feature starts from a real task in the emergency management cycle — not from what is easy to build or demo well.

Defensible by design
Provenance, certainty and immutable audit trails are built in, because decisions made under pressure get reviewed afterward.

Sovereign & secure
Agency-level data isolation, encryption in transit and at rest, and Canadian-hosted infrastructure options. Your data is never used to train models.

Research-grounded
Rooted in human factors and systems design research — how responders actually process information under stress, not how software wishes they would.

Interoperable
Emergencies do not respect jurisdictional boundaries. Our architecture assumes mutual aid, regional coordination and multi-agency response from day one.

Honest about AI
AI drafts and supports; people decide. Every output is reviewable, sourced and clearly presented as decision support rather than a substitute for judgment.
